transport on roads section

In order better to be able to organize journeys in Italy and abroad, we comply with the standards to which all bus drivers are subject.Compliance with these standards significantly increases the safety of the journey.

DRIVING HOURS

  • Maximum of 9 hours driving per day.
  • Maximum of 10 hours driving per day twice a week on NON-consecutive days.
  • Maximum of 56 hours driving per week.
  • Maximum 90 hours driving in a span of two weeks.

REST TIMES (when travelling)

  • After 4 hours and 30 minutes of consecutive driving, the driver must observe at least 45 minutes of uninterrupted rest.
  • Within a span of 4 hours and 30 minutes of driving, the rest may also be divided into a first period of at least 15 minutes and a second period of at least 30 minutes.

DAILY REST (between one journey and another)

  • At least 11 consecutive and uninterrupted hours.
  • Or a first period of at least 3 hours and a second period of at least 9 consecutive and uninterrupted hours

WEEKLY REST (at the end of the working week)

  • At least 45 consecutive and uninterrupted hours.
  • Or at least 24 consecutive and uninterrupted hours (the difference in the hours of missed rest are recovered over the span of the following three weeks

DAILY AVAILABILITY

  • Maximum of 12 hours from the moment of the first movement of the bus to the moment of turning the engine off.
  • Maximum of 15 hours (twice a week on non-consecutive days, complying with a period of rest of at least 3 consecutive and uninterrupted hours).
  • Maximum of 19 hours from the moment of the first movement of the bus to the moment of switching the engine off, when there are two drivers on board.
  • Maximum of 21 hours (twice a week on non-consecutive days, complying with a period of rest of at least 3 consecutive and uninterrupted hours) when there are two drivers on board.

BAGGAGE

  • Only and exclusively baggage which, by size, can be accommodated in the bus overhead luggage racks, may be carried aboard so as not to obstruct any emergency evacuation.
  • Bags which do not comply with those measurements must be loaded into the bus hold.

Should it be noted that a period of rest be missed, or the permitted driving hours be exceeded, the driver is not permitted to continue the journey until he has recovered the lost rest times.
In the event of a violation of these standards being noted, in addition to the inconvenience caused, administrative sanctions will be applied to the driver and the company.

For these reasons, we always advise that the best solution for any journey you wish to make be in full compliance with the Standards and for your greater safety.
